I love to teach and write, especially about the Bible. Durt on the Bible is my opportunity for me to do both. My goals are to inspire Christians to know God more deeply through the Scriptures, to challenge skeptics with the Bible’s truth, and to encourage seekers to find rest in a relationship with the ultimate Author. The Bible is God’s Word for us – authentic, inerrant, inspired and true. It does not need my defense, however, I will share my reasons for trusting it as the foundation for life and faith.
So who am I to write this? Educationally, I have earned a B.S. in Decision Science from Berry College and a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For over 20 years, I have taught Bible to all ages including preschool, elementary, middle and high school, college, young adults, median adults and senior adults. I am currently teaching adults 35-55 at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia. Teaching the Scriptures is both my passion and gift.
I started writing for publication in 2011 as a hobby. I chose to write primarily for the Yahoo Contributor Network. I have published almost 100 articles there on a wide variety of topics. I have written about my daughter’s mitochondrial disease, marriage, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and politics. I won a 2011 Content of the Year award for an article on my grandparents and a picture that arrived 67 years late. Yahoo shut down the program and removed all the content. Some will transfer to here. I have also been published in a local newspaper (Fayette Citizen). To provide for my family, I have worked in restaurants, ministry, and IT. I am currently a database administrator in “big data” (using Cassandra).
Since 1994, I am married to the best wife a man could have — Melanie. Together we have three children: Aidan, Gwendolyn, and Lincoln.
If you are interested in having me as a speaker or teacher for your event, contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) for availability. I would also welcome writing opportunities.
